We also recommend visiting award-winning local restaurant Madge Molloys in Coles Bay to sample some of the locally-caught fresh seafood.

Oysters

Freycinet Marine Farm: the Freycinet Marine Farm sells fresh Tasmanian seafood straight from the pristine waters of Great Oyster Bay. Purchase fresh oysters, mussels or rock lobsters to cook at home or sample some of their seafood at the Tasting Room in Coles Bay.

Sir Loin Breier

Sir Loin Breier is famed for the quality of his ingredients, the taste of his smallgoods and the range of his house-made ready-to-go deli options.

His chosen smoking ship is German beechwood, and has such a light touch with smoke, salt and sulfur preservatives that you'll love his products even if you're not usually that way inclined.

The smoked ocean trout has a creamy texture that makes it perfect for piling on sourdough toast from neighbour Blue Edge Bakery; the ham off the bone will amaze you; the rock lobster terrine is a delicious starter; and you can go the whole hog, as it were, with a slab of local aged beef fillet for your barbecue. The choice of 32 different sausages means plenty of return visits to try new flavours.
